On our way to Buffalo, Wy

We departed Kellogg on Friday morning. Hitch up went well, and we were on the road. But on Thursday we decided to go Moose hunting on our trikes.

We departed from our campground heading through Kellogg and Cataldo towards Black Rock. All told, we covered 50 miles on our round trip ride. While we weren’t successful seeing moose this year, we did see Osprey nests and box turtles. Here’s some of our photos; check out the water levels.

This great yard art was outside the Kellogg bike shop.

Can you see the beaver lodge?

This is at river edge at the campground we have traditionally camped at. Can you see the handrail that usually goes down to the river water? Campground is under new management, and is called CDA River Rv.

Here’s the new restroom facility at the CDA River Campground. Big improvement! They’ve had it about a month. Each of the four rooms has sink, toilet, and shower.

This is one of my favorite tree trunk along the way. Not small!

More flooding.

Amazingly the trail was not hurt by the water rise.

And yesterday we drove to Washoe Park in Anaconda, Montana. This was a city park about 7 miles off of I90. No services for the RVs, but a quiet economical spot to park. We loved the creek’s noise all night, even though the level rose about 3” overnight.

Today we drove to Billings, Montana. We’re parked in the parking lot of Canyon Creek Brewery. Delightful air conditioning in the pub, and good conversation. Outside it’s 94 degrees. We’re presently sitting in our lawn chairs outside our rigs enjoying the small breeze; another couple hours and temps should go down.

  1. Wonderful pictures!! That water level is dramatic!! I did not get that perspective riding from the hotel during TOT with one exception: in the park behind the hotel there was a picnic table sitting in about 10 inches of water. Thanks for letting me follow along. Safe travels
