- Nickel Plate Trail, Madison County, Illinois, hard pack, nice shade.
- Sacramento River Trail, Redding, Ca. lovely pavement and views, some hills, but centerline much of the time.
- Bizz Johnson Trail, Susanville, Ca. Gorgeous views on this non-paved rail trail. Since we’re not experienced mountain bikers, we walked some spots. Did the route on our Trek Marlin+ 8 mountain bikes — ebikes with front suspension.
- Michelson Trail, South Dakota. A scenic, 109-mile crushed-limestone rail-trail winding through the rugged, pine-covered Black Hills of South Dakota. Stretching from Deadwood in the north to Edgemont in the south, it features over 100 converted railroad trestles and four hard-rock tunnels.
