Today we did no painting; both of us are a bit sore from our exploits, but thankfully quite pleased with our progress.
Instead we moved the items Jo Ann stores behind her barn, with the aid of her Kubota tractor, to allow the tree people to come in to remove a tree that is getting too large for the property line. We also harvested a little Chinese Pistache tree that was growing on the back forty. She’s planted it in a pot to get it established, and then it will join five others that are growing in her backyard. When she brought the little pistache tree forward in the backyard to place it under an existing tree, she let me drive the Kubota. What fun! It will take me a minute to get better at it, but at least my maiden voyage has been accomplished.
We had a goal of staining her fence today, but her 30-year-old sprayer decided it had had enough. So rather than fight the 95 degree temperatures, we headed off to Home Depot to purchase a new one. I figure the old one has been fully amortized! Then we hit the paint store for more stain. We’ll be out early again tomorrow morning to miss the heat of the day; the predicted high is expected to be 105.
Here’s a short video of me with the Kubota. Enjoy!
